An interview by Alex Fitch of Resonance FM with award-winning German graphic novelist Reinhard Kleist, conducted before Kleist's appearance at COMICA at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London in November 2009.
It contains footage of Kleist sketching, photos from the launch at the ICA (sponsored by Letraset, Chivas Regal and SelfMadeHero) and images of the iPhone digital edition of the graphic novel.
I must admit to not having read anything of Mr. Kleist. Yes, shame on me and mea culpa, maxima culpa and so on. I’m running to the bookstore as we speak. That Johnny Cash biography looks sweet…

Once more, a new series on Monsieur Bandit! As simple as it gets, really: videos of people drawing. I love watching them. Hope you’ll like them, too…
The first in the series is by Tia Boon Sim, an architect/educator from Singapore who is also on the board of directors of “Urban Sketchers” (If you never heard of them before, check out their blog with tons of sketches and stuff at urbansketchers.com).
I hope I’ll find plenty of nice videos, but I’ve promised myself to be quite selective. This one sure made the cut…

Oh man, what a goldmine!
This guy, Rad Sechrist, is a storyboard artist at DreamWorks and he does this blog called Rad How To were he basically explains “how to draw”. Nothing more and nothing less. He posts sketches and drawings with explanations, comments on what he does exactly and why he does it. Well, there’s no point in going on and on about it. Get over there and see for yourselves. If you want to learn how to draw, or how to draw better, this is where you want to be. Go!
(Yeahyeahyeah, I know I’m supposed to try and keep you here as long as possible, reading my stuff, but this is way better, so scoot!)
